Nilesh Nilkanth Oak is an Indian author, independent researcher, and speaker known for his work on dating the Ramayana and the Mahabharata using archaeoastronomy — cross-referencing celestial descriptions embedded in the epics themselves against the physics of how stars, seasons, and constellations actually move over millennia.

Before turning to full-time research, Oak built a career in industry, including a role as a Global Trainer at General Electric. That engineering discipline shows up in his method: rather than relying on a single inscription or an isolated eclipse record, he builds his timelines by triangulating evidence across astronomy, internal textual consistency, and multiple independent scientific fields.

His conclusions sit far earlier than most conventional chronologies, and they've sparked real debate among historians and fellow researchers.
